  • New Program Approval Process

We are moving away from the paper program approval forms you may have used in previous years. Instead, we will be using a fillable PDF form, available online under the "resources" link forms section, that you should fill in and e-mail to advisor@cs.umanitoba.ca. If you wish to have a face to face meeting please indicate this in your e-mail otherwise your form will simply be dealt with electronically and you will receive an e-mail once this has been done.

  • Best Paper Awards

There are three big annual national computing conferences in Canada, on artificial intelligence, graphics/hci, and computer vision, and in recent years they have co-located together as AI/GI/CRV.  Each conference offers a best paper with a student first author, and this past week at the conference members of our department won two of these (AI and GI).  These are:

Patrick Dubois, Volodymyr Dziubak, Andrea Bunt. Tell Me More! Soliciting Reader Contributions to Software Tutorials, Best Student Paper GI-17,

    and

Geoff Nagy and John Anderson, Active Team Management Strategies for Multi-Robot Teams in Dangerous Environments, Best Student Paper AI-17
